UMS Art

These are the six panels from the UMS portion of the art show. Great work everyone.

Save the date and mark your calendars for the Colchester School District Art Show at Colchester High School in the gymnasium. Students from grades K-12 will be represented in this annual event.
Hours are:
Tuesday, May 7-Friday, May 10
8 AM-4 PM
There will be a reception on Thursday, May 9 from 6-8 PM. Refreshments will be served.

As part of the preparation for the Taiko Drummer artist in residence UMS students explored arts and crafts of Japan. One of the favorites was the Daruma Dolls made by the first and second grades. Ask your child why some eyes on the Daruma Doll are blank, some have one eye filled in, and some have both eyes filled in.

One of this year’s Red Clover books is Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet.  Mrs. Flanagan read the book during library and the students in all grades created stick puppets.
