Music at Union Memorial School

Students participate in one performing activity each school year that is shared with parents, families and the community.  This school year we look forward to an Artist-in-Residency featuring Stuart Paton of Burlington Taiko Drummers!  There will be lots of information to follow, but for now, please mark your calendars for March, 19, 2013!

Students also gather frequently for whole school meetings (sometimes as much as once or twice a month).  This helps students learn about good audience etiquette, as well as gives them opportunities to prepare and share with the school community.  Quite often we will sing our school song, “Glad To Be Here,” as well as other songs everyone knows.

In December, students gather for a special whole school Sing-Along which includes songs from different cultures around the world.
