Book Fairs  

 We have two Scholastic book fairs each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. The proceeds are used to bring an author/illustrator to school or purchase library and technology materials.

 

  I Love To Read Weeks

 For the two weeks preceding February vacation, we celebrate reading and writing. In the library we have visiting readers from the community. We also  have a used book swap.

  Red Clover Activity Day  

 Before we vote for our favorite Red Clover book students get to review the stories and make a craft related to a book. The entire staff participates in this afternoon activity so that groups have only about eight students each.

 

 Author/Illustrator Visits 

 Porters Point has been very fortunate to have many authors and illustrators visit us. Some of them are: Harry Bliss, Natalie Kinsey-Warnock, Tracey Campbell Pearson, Douglas Flourian, Irene Hectors Small, J. Alison James, Leda Shubert and Jason Chin.
