We just ended the day with a special school wide assembly for Memorial Day.  Chorus, band, art work and poetry readings by Bella, Kevin, Steph, Bobby, and Jayme.  They did a TERRRIFIC JOB!!!!  I took pictures but the room was dark and they did not turn out well – sorry!  So proud!!!!

Students have their yearbook order forms with them today – I know some of you have been looking for them.

We also sent home a collection of summer reading programs – extra motivation!Miss Hebert also has the list of DCF books for next year for interested students.

I completed the F & P reading assessment with all of the students this week.  They also completed the “Gates” – another reading assessment for comprehension and vocabulary.   I am pleased with their progress.

Fourth grade teachers are having an in-service day on Tuesday to start planning curriculum revisions for the Common Core Standards and our school improvement plan.

Remember to send in the permission slips for Bayside and the end of year barbecue.

I hope you all have a special longggggg weekend!

Home Reading: None – we are very near the end of the book – I want to finish it in class together tomorrow.

Math: Journal page 307 and look through kitchen for examples of liquid volume.  Make a list to bring into school to share tomorrow.  For example: milk – gallon

Book orders:  I sent the May and June orders home with students on Friday.  Last one of the year.  Some of the students have not used the book certificates I gave them in December.  I kept track of the certificate numbers, so even if they lost the slip they can still select a free book.  Orders are due on Friday.  Thanks!
