Mrs. Hooper's Second Grade Blog!

Today we had a school wide morning assembly. This month the second graders led the assembly. Our class led the pledge. Mrs. Cummings class led the morning meeting, which was a loud ROAR!! Ms. Mutz sang the school song with us as well as our Ready To Learn song!! The second graders helped by singing to the kindergarteners and first graders. Our class read the poem, Dinosaur Ages.  Mrs. Benajmin’s class and Mrs. Bissonette’s class led us in a song in rounds! Two students from each second grade class shared their learning by showing all that we have done with dinosaurs! We had a great time!

Today we made dinosaur skeletons out of many different types of pasta!

As many of you know, we have been writing dinosaur reports on the specific dinosaur of our choice! We have also been creating large stuffed versions of our dinosaurs! To make them we traced the dinosaurs, cut them out, decorated them and are now stuffing and hanging them!

All month we have been working hard and learning about the many types of Dinosaurs! For one of our first projects, we read the story about Dazzle the Dinosaur. Afterwards, we created a replica of Dazzle the Dinosaur. Here is a picture of some of our work!! You can also see our Dinosaur Word Wall full of words we have been learning about!
