Spring Music Concert 2012

The kids did a fabulous job last night at their concert.  Please enjoy the video below (I apologize for the quality of some of the pictures).

Try our slideshow maker at Animoto.

Fractions are part of a whole!

Students have been working on identifying, adding, subtracting and comparing fractions.  We’ve learned that as the denominator gets bigger the pieces get smaller.

Fall Harvest Party

Students have done a great job writing narrative stories this year.  A good narrative story has a clear beginning, middle, and end, along with a problem, solution and lots of dialogue.  Students earned a fall harvest party through hard work and good behavior.  At the party they participated in a few games, ate snacks, and shared their narratives.

Please enjoy these pictures of your children.  (If by chance your child hasn’t made it into a slideshow yet let me know and I’ll make sure they get in a slideshow soon.)

Energy, Force and Motion Jeopardy

Thanks to all the parents that joined us today for our Jeopardy game.  It was a hard fought battle to the end.  Students pulled out the victory with 100 points to spare.

Mass makes all the difference!

Students are learning that objects with more mass have more force and offer more resistance to motion.  These pictures show students learning that if an object (green slider) has more mass (added hexnuts) it will offer more resistance (slow down the rolling marble in less distance).

Energy, Force and Motion

Please enjoy these pictures of your children learning about energy, force and motion. Today we learned about potential energy, kinetic energy, mass, and inertia.

Vermont Field Trip 2011

We had a fabulous day visiting the statehouse, Rock of Ages, and Ben & Jerry’s factory in Waterbury.  Please enjoy these pictures of our class.  Pay close attention to the sad faces in the ice cream graveyard as children mourn the loss of the flavors they will never taste.

Energy, Force, and Motion Jeopardy

Students were up to the challenge of beating their parents in Energy, Force, and Motion Jeopardy last week.  It was a well fought battle, but students prevailed by about 2000 points.  The deciding questions was about Newton’s 2nd law of motion.
